Shaping Student Engagement Together

Washington’s emerging Civic Seal aims to recognize K–12 students who demonstrate excellence in civic learning, meaningful participation, and community-centered leadership—elevating young people who embody the values of civic engagement in their daily lives. This statewide Seal can honor students’ civic knowledge and skills while strengthening the bridge between classroom learning and the real-world responsibilities of active citizenship. Far more than a transcript notation, the Civic Seal represents a commitment to preparing every Washington student to participate thoughtfully, lead with purpose, and contribute to a healthy democracy.
